Choice
Choice – Soul Circle
An important choice made a long time ago about writing path was not a recognizable choice. Long ago, I wrote songs. It wasn’t a decided choice; I just did it. This prompt reminded me of this. It was natural, unprompted, not concerned with what others thought or that it was going to be graded. It was free. Now that I am spending time with this memory I am realizing as I became a more scholarly writer and put myself through higher education, my writing is not free. It is cautious, not curious. It is bound by being supported with research. It is concerned about criticism and getting a grade or published. The new conscious choice today is to try to let go and be more spontaneous with my writing. This is my choice.
